Brown Spots
Laser is a common and effective modality used to treat pigmented lesions, brown spots, due to aging and prolonged sun exposure. Anywhere from 1 to 3 treatments may be needed. Treatments can be done 2 weeks apart, with minimal to no downtime.

Face and Leg Veins
Small, dilated blood vessels, called telangiectasias (tuh-lan-jee-uk-TAY-zhuh), can be treated with laser. A repeat treatment 2 weeks later is occasionally needed for best results.

Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is safe, effective and can be done on almost any part of the body, including the face, underarms, back, bikini area, arms and legs. It has minimal downtime and resolves ingrown hairs commonly seen with waxing and shaving.

Hyfercation
Hyfrecation is a form of electrocautery used to treat various types of benign skin lesions, such as Cherry angiomas and seborrheic keratoses. A local anesthetic is used, and treated areas will scab for 3 to 7 days.

Scars
While scars cannot be completely erased, they can be treated with our CO2 fractional ablative laser. This laser resurfacing procedure can make thick (hypertrophic) scars more supple and thinned (atrophic) scars more like the surrounding skin.

Spider Veins
Laser is a common and effective modality used to treat spider veins, which appear as thin red lines, or a weblike network of blood vessels. Due to the body’s ability to regrow these blood vessels, a series of 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart, is typically recommended.
The Laser Facial

Active Acne – Large Pores
Our treatment regimen significantly decreases the incidence and severity of acne break-outs by killing the P. acnes bacteria on the skin, ablating away dead skin cells and decreasing oil production by shrinking oil glands and decreasing pore size.

Rosacea
The Laser Facial can significantly decrease the incidence, severity and symptoms of rosacea: tiny, visible blood vessels on the face that causes an overall red or ruddy appearance of the skin.
CO2 Laser Resurfacing

At CU Plastic Surgery, we offer fractional ablative CO2 laser resurfacing, a procedure that helps remodel the skin to improve its texture, thereby decreasing the severity of acne scars, as well as decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
While scars cannot be completely erased, they can be treated with our CO2 fractional ablative laser. This laser resurfacing procedure can make thick (hypertrophic) scars more supple and thinned (atrophic) scars more like the surrounding skin.
Indications for CO2 Laser include: burns, fine lines, scars, stretch marks and wrinkles.
